The newspaper news, the National Science and Technology Reward Conference was grandly held in Beijing on 8th January. And the CPC and state leaders attended the convention and handed out awards for representatives of the winning. The project of efficient exploration and development of Fuling large-scale marine shale gas field led by Exploration Company won first-class National Scientific and Technological Progress Award. General Manager, Guo Xusheng took part in the meeting and accepted the award from the CPC and state leaders on behalf of Exploration Company. 

The project of Efficient Exploration and Development of Fuling Large-scale Marine Shale Gas Field depending on self-dependent innovation , became the first national level shale gas demonstration plot of China, and made China the third country which have perfected the packaged technology of shale gas development following the United States and Canada. It broke foreign technological monopoly and realized major breakthrough in shale gas field of China. Furthermore, it bridged shale gas exploration and development of China from From the start to lead across, and supply reproducible and propagable experiences for shale gas exploration and development. Now, the proven geological reserve of Fuling shale gas field is 6 008 × 108 m3 and cumulative gas has exceeded 150×108m3. In 2007, gas production rate was 60.04×108m3, and the most daily sales of shale gas 1 670×104m3. It can satisfy production and living demands of 3 340×104  homes, and set up important resource base for “Gasified Yangtze river belt”. It not only can promote energy structure adjustment and relieve gas market supply pressure of mid-east region in China, but also have important significance on speeding up energy saving and emission reduction and atmospheric pollution prevention.

In 2007, the project of Marine Carbonate Rocks Natural Gas Accumulation Mechanism, Exploration Technology and Discovery of Puguang Gas Field led by Exploration Company won first-class National Scientific and Technological Progress Award in 2006. In 2015，the project of Efficient Exploration and Key Technology of Yuanba Super – deep Bioherm Large Gas Field led by Exploration Company won first-class National Scientific and Technological Progress Award in 2014.
